Roma currently lie in eighth place, but Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli insists “there’s no harm in dreaming” of Champions League qualification.

Only the top three teams in Serie A go through to the Champions League and the Giallorossi are seven points adrift of third-placed Lazio.

“It is a positive moment for us, but we can certainly do a lot better. We have to work very hard, especially on our off the ball movements,” said Andreazzoli.

He lost his debut on the bench after replacing the sacked Zdenek Zeman, but has now won two on the bounce.

“Is our objective third place? There’s no harm in dreaming. Anyone who stops dreaming has basically given up on life.

“Of course there is then reality and a problematic situation in terms of points. I don’t want to make long-term plans, as those would be pointless. It’s better to focus on the next game with maniacal precision.”

Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti return from their bans, though Leandro Castan and Mattia Destro are still sidelined.

“Genoa are a compact side who concede few goals and hit you on the break. I think in terms of characteristics, they are the ideal team to cause us problems,” continued Andreazzoli.

“Marco Borriello has always been an important player, while I have always been fond of Andrea Bertolacci from his time at Roma. He has grown up a lot.”
