The tactician was given a one-match ban following his red card in the midweek 2-2 draw with Atalanta at the Stadio San Paolo.
He protested the dismissal, insisting he felt “under attack” and had been trying to help the referee calm furious players when he was shown the red card.
Ancelotti is making a last-ditch appeal to have the ban revoked just hours before the game at the Stadio Olimpico.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, he will be accompanied in his testimony by Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis.
If the touchline ban is upheld, then Ancelotti’s son Davide – who works as an assistant manager – will take his place on the bench.
