Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri believes the Scudetto race “will be decided on the final day”.

The Bianconeri are right back in the title fight after a poor start to the season, sitting in joint-second place with Inter, two points behind leaders Napoli.

“The League is very balanced, and it’ll be balanced until the end,” Allegri told JTV.

“I’m sure it will be decided on the final day, because it’s a question of maths. A team which has a great second half to the season, getting lots of wins, will take around 46 to 48 points, then the second will get 40 points.

“Consequently, that means the title race will go down to the last days, and I think the last.

“We have a lot of work to do, especially because we didn’t start this season in the best way, we’re still chasing and have to overcome two teams in the table.

“The ultimate goal is to finish top, and we’ll need a very good second half of the season to do so.”

Allegri then looked ahead to this weekend’s clash with Udinese, with the Old Lady looking to win their 10th game in a row.

“The match against Udinese will be very difficult, because they’re going through a good period, even if they lost to Carpi.

“They’re opening their new stadium, so it’ll be a special Sunday for them, but it has to be an important one for us.

“It marks the start of the second half of the season, and we have 19 games to get the fifth-consecutive Scudetto, which would enter into the history of Juventus.

“So it’ll be a very difficult game.”
