“We have done better defensively of late, but above all working as a team unit,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“Tomorrow is a fundamental game, as we are still without an away win this season and need results to stay close to the top six.”
There was also a psychological boost for the team after a 1-1 Champions League draw with Barcelona on Tuesday.
“The team did fairly well, but we cannot rest on the laurels of a good result against Barça. Tomorrow Serie A returns and we cannot afford another mistake.
“Parma have players of real quality and a fearsome front two of Amauri and Antonio Cassano, the pace of Jonathan Biabiany and midfielders who can push up between the lines. We’ll need a great performance.”
There are a few injury concerns, as Mario Balotelli is back, but Christian Abbiati is still unavailable.
“Marco Amelia did well against Barcelona and Gabriel impressed with Udinese, so I’ll have to decide today who starts in goal,” continued Allegri.
“I tested out a trident in training with M’Baye Niang, Balotelli and Robinho, but then changed them with Valter Birsa, Alessandro Matri and Kaka. I could end up using neither of the two line-ups.
“Mario needs to relax, learn from the things he hears and reads so he can understand he has to improve in certain areas. It’s not a State problem, he’s just a young player who needs to do his work. He is not a ‘normal’ player, as his qualities are above the norm and he is paid to play at his best for the team, club and fans.
“Riccardo Montolivo had a knock to the tibia against Barcelona, while we have Mattia De Sciglio back. Giampaolo Pazzini is running again and will have a check-up, while it will take a little more time for Daniele Bonera to recover.”
Reports resumed today that Milan are considering Clarence Seedorf to be the Coach next season, especially after President Silvio Berlusconi took credit for the 1-1 draw with Barcelona.
“My work will be evaluated at the end of the season, checking whether pre-defined objectives have been achieved. There has always been a rumour mill with regards to Coaches. You need balance, a cool head and nerves of steel to sit on such an important bench.
“If at the end of the season we still agree, then we will go on together, if not then we won’t. I like to listen to everyone, especially the President. At times our ideas don’t connect, but I am the Coach and I make the tactical decisions. My rapport with the President is excellent.”
