Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has conceded that his side must improve defensively if they are to climb the table.
The Rossoneri, like last season, have made a stuttering start to the campaign after collecting just eight points from their first seven games of term.
“To comeback as we did last year is not impossible,” the Diavolo tactician stated on Friday afternoon.
“But if we have conceded 13 goals then we have made some mistakes. It is hard to win games when you concede on average two a tie…
“We have to eliminate the errors which are costing us.”
Milan will entertain Udinese on Saturday night at San Siro.
“Udinese won’t be an easy game. They are a team who make you play badly and they have Antonio Di Natale, a player who is always dangerous.
“We’ll go out there with 11 players and those who play will be up to the standard to those who are unavailable. We’ll certainly play a good game, even if we’ll perhaps need some luck.”
Star striker Mario Balotelli won’t be available after he picked up a thigh problem on his return from international duty.
“After his three-game ban, it is disappointing that I will be without him tomorrow as well. The doctors will decide what to do with him on Monday and we’ll see if he will be available for Tuesday’s game against Barcelona.
“Birsa, Silvestre and Kaka are back though,” Allegri continued. “Kaka is at my disposal, even if he will only have 30 minutes in his legs.
“I’m edging towards playing Silvestre in defence alongside Zapata.
“The ritiro? It wasn’t a punishment. It was necessary to look at the errors we have made. We have thus had more time to prepare for this game.”
