Allan felt Yuto Nagatomo deserved the red card in Napoli-Inter. “If I didn’t jump, he would’ve really hurt me.”

Roberto Mancini blamed the referee for the 2-1 defeat, as Nagatomo received a second yellow card before half-time for a mistimed tackle on Allan.

“I thought it was a yellow card offence, as if I didn’t jump over him then he would’ve really hurt me. I thought the referee did well,” the Napoli midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was a hard-fought win, but the best victories are hard-fought and we got the three points.

“Gonzalo Higuain is a guarantee and we know that if he gets the ball, he’s likely to put it in the net. We hope to help him score many more goals so he can stay top of the Capocannoniere charts and us top of the table.

“Maurizio Sarri is right to be angry, as in the final minutes we went too deep and relaxed, allowing Inter the initiative and chances to score. We must learn from this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

“It’s wonderful to play games like this against the best and you have to give 110 per cent, as it’s the only way to get great results.”
