Allan is about to start his fifth season at Napoli, with speculation of a move to Paris Saint-Germain having fizzled out.
“I feel very good and I’m ready for the new season: we want to start it the best way we can,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
“We’re fired up for Florence and then we’ll be focused on the match against Juventus. Every Sunday there’s a battle to be had in Serie A.
“We hope to start the season with a win at the Franchi. It’s always important to start off on the right foot: in Florence it’s never an easy game but we want to take the three points.
“If Ribery plays, he’ll possibly be facing me. But they also have Chiesa and other good players, so we’ll have to pay great attention to the Viola team.
“I’ve found a very peaceful environment since getting back from Copa America. The team have trained well and had a good preseason.
“Gaetano and Elmas are two very good players. They’re ready to give us a big hand this season.”
The midfielder helped Brazil win Copa America earlier in the summer, and he now wants to experience that feeling with the Partenopei.
“Yes, I think so,” he replied when asked whether the class of 2019-20 was superior to its predecessors.
“Some important players have arrived, reinforcing a squad who are already strong.
“The newcomers and those who could still arrive can help us step up a level and do great things.
“Luckily there was no mention of me during the summer. I’m fine here in Naples and I want to win some trophies with the Azzurri shirt.”
