Former Roma defender Aldair believes Edin Dzeko will “unlock the door” soon after another goalless performance against Fiorentina.
Dzeko scored just eight Serie A goals for Roma last season and failed to find the target in their 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina on Sunday, but Aldair is confident the former Manchester City striker will enjoy a purple patch soon enough.
“Although they lost, Roma started to play and were unlucky, so perhaps they deserved to draw with Fiorentina,“ he told Rete Sport.

“The defenders need to play more games together in order to assimilate the mechanisms and characteristics of their partners, but here were no major problems between Manolas and Fazio.
“Attack? A lot has been expected from Dzeko since he joined, he’s not been able to unlock the door, but I believe in the Bosnian, he’s always done well at other teams and I think he’ll unlock it soon.
“Totti? I didn’t expect him to be in such good shape, although he’s always attentive to his diet.
“I thought he’d play up to 34-35, but we’re all seeing that he can still play 30-40 minutes per game.
“Fans want players to leave everything on the pitch, and my team have always done that.
“Yesterday’s defeat was unlucky because Roma could’ve stolen at least a point.”
