The Argentine forward arrived at La Viola from West Ham United in January, but has started only five matches for the club.
Despite frustration at a lack of playing time, the 29-year-old’s agent and brother Rolando Zarate assured reporters that his future is at the Artemio Franchi.
“Mauro is really happy in Florence, he’s taking advantage of all the opportunities he’s given and hasn’t taken much time to fit into a tight-knit squad like Fiorentina,” Rolando Zarate told FirenzeViola.it.
“Despite the complicated period for the Viola, his season up until now has been positive and we’re satisfied with this.
“Clearly he’d like to have more space. Like every player, his desire is to play as much as possible, but it’s the Coach’s choice and Paulo Sousa’s decisions must be respected.
“Without doubt Mauro will be in Florence next season. And I’ll tell you something else, next year will be a great season for Mauro with Fiorentina, it’ll be his consecration on the river Arrno.”
