Hamsik is on his way to China with Dalian Yifang after Napoli announced his departure on Thursday, and Martin Petras admitted to mixed feelings on his client’s part.
“He’s still in Slovakia. These have been difficult weeks for Marek,” he told CalcioNapoli24.
“He’ll leave for his new adventure in China today. Napoli already miss him he feels Neapolitan, as do his children, and him leaving Napoli wasn’t easy for anyone!
“Was I afraid the move would fall through? Yes, it was a difficult time for us after Napoli’s tweet, but we’re not angry: everyone looks out for their own interests.
“At first negotiations seemed to be easy, but they turned out to be very complicated. There’s regret, a lot of it for not having won the title last season.
“Napoli put in their hearts and souls and did everything possible, but unfortunately it went how it did.
“He will always support Napoli. He watched the whole game yesterday. De Laurentiis’ words yesterday were such a pleasure for him, but Marek is still young. He’s only 31 and he wants to keep playing.
“Back in an executive role? It’s still too early to say, but he’ll certainly come back one day because Naples is still his home.
“Back for a send-off against Udinese? Again it’s still too early to say, but he’ll certainly be back at the San Paolo to wave off the fans.”
