Manuel Locatelli’s agent describes the Milan youngster as “a little Andrea Pirlo” after his performance against Sassuolo.
The 18-year-old scored his first Rossoneri goal to help his side to a 4-3 win and was so overcome that he was in tears in a post-match interview.
“We’re very happy,” Stefano Castelnovo confirmed to MilanNews.
“It’s conformation of what’s been said about him in recent months, namely that he’s an important player. Now he needs to be left alone, because he still has to grow even though his start has been very positive.
“In the last four games he’s finding consistency, Montella has confidence in him which means that he’s seen a glimpse of his quality and regularly puts him on.
“I’d define him as a little Pirlo, who by the way is one of his heroes. Pirlo was quick in the head, and Locatelli also has that quality.
“He’s not that quick physically, but he thinks fast.”
Castelnovo was then asked about his client’s contractual situation.
“He basically renewed a few months ago, it’s not a recent thing. Among other things, [CEO Adriano] Galliani has said in recent weeks that an agreement on a renewal had already been reached.”
