Samir Handanovic’s agent hit back at reports the goalkeeper is in talks with Arsenal and Chelsea. “He wants Inter.”
The shot-stopper vented his frustration at the lack of Champions League football, fuelling rumours today that director of sport Piero Ausilio was in London to discuss his €15m move.
“There is absolutely no news,” agent Federico Pastorello told FcInterNews.
“The lad has a strong personality and his comments were merely expressing the great regret at not being able to play in the Champions League with Inter next season too.
“He is not happy that he doesn’t get to participate in the tournament, he’s disappointed and just expressed that. It’s what he’s like, he’s a very transparent guy.
“I can absolutely deny that a sale is likely. We renewed the contract a few months ago, right when it was running down.
“Samir is very happy to have done that and wants to continue wearing the Nerazzurri jersey.
“With regards to his comments, I think it’s absolutely normal to be upset at not reaching the third-place target. It would be strange if he wasn’t upset.
“Handanovic is a player without filters, he said nothing wrong. All the reports that emerged over the last few days have been untrue. Handa does not want to leave Inter. He wants to continue with this shirt.”
