Gabriel Barbosa’s agent says the Inter striker needs “a chance to show who he is” but confirms it’s “very likely” he’ll leave Benfica.

The Brazilian, commonly known as Gabigol joined the Nerazzurri last summer, but didn’t make a single Serie A start and scored just one goal.

A loan move to Benfica has also seen him struggle to break into the first team, and it’s expected he’ll go back to Brazil on loan in January.

“I can’t say 100 per cent that Gabriel will leave Benfica,” Cesar Boaventura, one of Gabigol’s agents, told FCInterNews.

“At this point though it’s very likely. He hasn’t played much due to the choices of his Coach [Rui Vitoria] but be careful, because we’re talking about a great talent.

“He can show his talent in any team in the world, he just needs a Coach who will bet on him and give him the chance to show who he is.

“Will he go back to Inter or to Brazil? We don’t know yet. The decision will be made soon.”
