Johan Djourou’s agent has categorically denied talks with Roma, although he did admit “he could leave Arsenal in January.”
Reports emerged in Germany and England today that the 25-year-old Swiss international defender was the subject of a bid from Zdenek Zeman’s Giallorossi.
“There is absolutely nothing there. I can categorically deny any contact with Roma,” agent Flavio Ferraria told ilsussidiario.net.
“Is Djourou the ideal player for Zeman? He is young and versatile, so could well be useful for Zeman. I am sure he has the right qualities for this style of football.
“Djourou wants to play and this is why we will talk to Arsene Wenger. Meanwhile we are preparing for January and evaluating the situation carefully.
“Does he have a future in Italy? It’s possible, he just wants to play, whether it’s in England, Italy or another country.”
