The Vesuviani could only draw 1-1 with their Tuscan opponents on Sunday evening to fail to close the gap on second placed Roma, who also dropped two points at home to Inter.

Whilst the latest disappointing result against a team lower in the standings, the club President has refused to be drawn on criticism.

“I do not want to talk about the game yesterday, because assessments must be made at the end of the season,” De Laurentiis has told reporters today.

“We are facing a massacre after every match and what is said is often trivial.

“It is something that we know by heart. For me, we’ll talk at the end of the season.”
