There are reports Napoli defender Kevin Malcuit has sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage, which may well end his season.
He limped off in tears during this afternoon’s 1-1 draw with SPAL at the Stadio Mazza.
The full-back fell awkwardly when his knee seemed to buckle, but after some quick tests with the medical staff and some ‘magic spray,’ he was given the all-clear to continue.

A few minutes later, Malcuit crumpled to the ground in agony and had to be helped off the pitch.
According to Sky Sport Italia, it’s feared to be an ACL tear and that would require around four months off the pitch.
He will have tests on Monday before deciding on a course of action.
It would be a big problem, because Mario Rui, Nikola Maksimovic and Elseid Hysaj are already dealing with injuries, while Faouzi Ghoulam seems to be out of favour.
