Juventus have confirmed that midfielder Douglas Luiz has not suffered a serious injury and that his condition will be monitored daily ahead of the upcoming trip to San Siro to face Inter in Serie A on Sunday. 

The former Aston Villa midfielder came down with an injury in the warm-up of Juve’s 1-0 loss to Stuttgart in the Champions League on Tuesday night. He had been due to play from the off, but was later replaced by Khephren Thuram in Thiago Motta’s starting line-up. 

Juventus rule out serious Douglas Luiz injury

Douglas Luiz arrived for tests at JMedical early on Wednesday morning, and Juventus have already ruled out any potential muscular tear. Instead, it has been revealed that Douglas Luiz is suffering with some minor hamstring discomfort. 

Juventus have confirmed that his condition will be monitored on a daily basis, which is a positive update for Thiago Motta ahead of the massively important game against Inter at the weekend. 

Inter are currently second in the Serie A table with 17 points from their opening eight matches of the 2024-25 season. The Bianconeri sit just behind them in third with a tally of 16 from their first eight.
