Former Juventus winger Massimo Mauro feels Kenan Yildiz is ‘too predictable’ when he plays as a left winger: ‘He looks like a Federico Chiesa that came out wrong.’

Turkish talent Yildiz has had highs and lows this season. In September, he became the youngest Juventus goalscorer in the Champions League, overtaking club legend Alessandro Del Piero, but he hasn’t yet found the net in Serie A this term.

Yildiz played as an attacking midfielder in the first competitive game of the season against Como when Juventus had yet to sign Teun Koopmeiners, but when the Dutchman joined the Old Lady, Yildiz was moved to the left wing.

Italy international Federico Chiesa in stands at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool, after joining Liverpool from Juventus.

“In the first league game against Como, he played in the middle and moved to the left and right,” Mauro, a former Juventus winger, told Pressing on Sunday.

“He received the ball differently. He seems too predictable on the left, where he looks like a Chiesa that came out wrong.”

Chiesa left Juventus to join Liverpool in the summer transfer window. The Italy international was not part of Thiago Motta’s plans at the Allianz Stadium.

On the other hand, Yildiz signed a contract extension until June 2029 and was given the Bianconeri’s No.10 shirt.

The Turkey international has one goal and two assists in 10 games this season.
