Inter are reportedly trying to lock Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah down to a pre-contract agreement to sign him as a free agent next summer, but face competition from Liverpool.

Under the guidance of Beppe Marotta, who was first CEO and then President of the club, the Nerazzurri have focused on strengthening their squad with free agents.

That involves doing a lot of early groundwork to convince the players and be ready when the moment comes to put pen to paper.

After the likes of Marcus Thuram, Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski, their latest target is said to be Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Tah.

The 28-year-old Germany international will be out of contract at the end of the season and is seen as an heir to ageing Inter defenders like Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.

According to TEAMtalk, Inter are trying to get him to sign a pre-contract agreement with a deal worth €6m per season until June 2029.

They are not the only contenders, as Milan, Juventus, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been linked with Tah.
