Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman had tried to force an exit over the summer and there are reports he could attempt again in January with a €30m price-tag.

The Nigeria international was a key figure in the Europa League triumph last season, scoring a hat-trick in the Final against Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin.

However, after starting in the UEFA Super Cup clash with Real Madrid, he immediately asked to be left out for their Serie A matches after receiving approaches from clubs believed to include Paris Saint-Germain.

When Atalanta refused to sell, he was welcomed back into the fold, but that might not necessarily last.

Lookman future with Atalanta still in doubt

According to Sky Sports Deutschland transfer expert Florian Plettenburg, Lookman is still eager for a new challenge and could ask to be released in the January window if the right offer comes along.

Among the reasons for La Dea’s irritation in the summer was the lack of time left to find a replacement, so they could be more amenable mid-season with some warning.

The asking price would be a minimum of €30m, but potentially even more if Lookman continues to score regularly.

He was also named among the Ballon d’Or nominees.
