Scott McTominay left everyone impressed by scoring just 26 seconds into Napoli‘s home game against Como, capitalising on a play that started directly from kick off.

The Instagram profile of Lega Serie A posted a video of the remarkable feat, with a stopwatch in the background to underline how quickly the Azzurri went from taking the first kick of the game to taking the lead against Cesc Fabregas’ side.

The stopwatch clearly shows that McTominay scored his first Serie A goal with Napoli after 26 seconds, as also reported in the caption, accompanied by an emoticon of lightning. After going ahead early, the Azzurri went on to win 3-1 and reach the top of the Serie A table.

Opta also reported that the Scotland international’s goal was the third fastest net scored by a Napoli player in a Serie A match in the three points for a win era, coming after Lozano’s strike against Verona in 2021 (9 seconds) and Ezequiel Lavezzi’s goal against Genoa in 2008 (25 seconds).
