According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have prepared a five-man midfield shortlist for the summer as talks to extend Adrien Rabiot’s contract remain on hold.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Juventus and Rabiot are in no hurry to extend their agreement, which expires this June. The France international signed a one-year contract extension last summer and will assess his options in the coming months. According to Gazzetta, the two parties will probably make a final decision after Euro 2024.
Rabiot joined Juventus on a free transfer from PSG in 2019 and has played under Maurizio Sarri, Andrea Pirlo and Massimiliano Allegri in Turin.
Gazzetta reports Rabiot is ‘attracted’ by the Premier League, but hasn’t ruled out staying at the Allianz Stadium, recently claimant that he wants to win “more Serie A titles” with the Old Lady.
While Juventus prepare for showdown talks with the midfielder’s mother and agent, they have also been monitoring several midfielders who could replace Rabiot next season. Their primary target is Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners, but the likes of Mikel Merino (Real Sociedad), Lewis Ferguson (Bologna), Georgiy Sudakov (Shakhtar Donetsk) and Lazar Samardzic (Udinese) are also on the club’s wishlist.
