According to Italian reports, Lazio had also tried to sign Bryan Gil from Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day, but could not reach an agreement.
The Biancocelesti failed to sign any new players in the January transfer window and saw their deal with Fenerbahce for attacking winger Ryan Kent fall apart at the last minute when the player pulled out.
Calciomercato.it claim that wasn’t the only bid that they failed to complete in the final hours of the market.
Lazio had also seemingly approached Tottenham for Bryan Gil, who will turn 23 later this month.
However, Spurs were only prepared to let him go on loan if there was an obligation to buy at the end of the season and Lazio would not commit to that.
Tottenham purchased Gil from Sevilla in 2021 for €25m and have since loaned him out to Valencia and his old club Sevilla again.
The Spaniard made only 10 competitive appearances this season for a total 217 minutes of football.
