Fiorentina and Lazio have reportedly opened talks to sign Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa, but the Rossoblu are in no rush to sell the 26-year-old mainly thanks to Radu Dragusin’s Tottenham transfer.
Gudmundsson has arguably been Genoa’s best player this season with nine goals and two assists in 20 Serie A appearances.
A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with signing the 26-year-old in the summer, including West Ham and Aston Villa, but the latest report from Sportitalia suggests Fiorentina want to sign the striker in the January transfer window.
According to TMW, Lazio also made contact with the Grifone last week, but the Rossoblu are in no hurry to sell.
Having already earned €25m plus bonuses from Dragusin’s sale to Tottenham, Genoa don’t want to sell another star in the middle of the season and will likely sit down with clubs interested in Gudmundsson only at the end of the current campaign.
According to TMW, Genoa’s asking price for Gudmundsson is between €25m and €30m, but their demands could rise if the striker continues to impress in the second part of 2023-24.
