Roberto De Zerbi admits Arsenal played ‘much better’ than his Brighton side, deserving a 2-0 victory and fans believe the Gunners’ coach Mikel Arteta ‘outclassed’ the Italian tactician on Sunday.

De Zerbi’s Brighton suffered a deserved 2-0 loss at the Emirates Stadium and the Gunners’ performance in London prompted the Italian coach to praise his opponents after the final whistle.

“Arsenal played much better than us. They deserved to win the game,” he said.

“We suffered a lot. I think Arsenal are one of the best, maybe the best team in the Premier League this season. We are not used to suffering in this way. We are used to controlling the game.”

Arsenal had nine shots on target and forced Brighton keeper Bart Verbruggen to six saves. The Seagulls, on the other hand, managed just one shot on target at minute 62 and the Gunners shot-stopper David Raya only produced one save in 90 minutes (stats via SofaScore).

Fans on social media seemed shocked by Arsenal’s dominance of De Zerbi, who is regarded as one of the most talented and exciting coaches in Europe.

The Italian tactician has often been praised by Pep Guardiola, but fans feel Arteta ‘completely outclassed’ the Italian tactician on Sunday.
