Inter captain Lautaro Martinez reunited with one of his mentors, Diego Milito, following a 1-0 win over RB Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Lautaro was introduced as a substitute in the second half in Austria and converted a penalty kick at minute 85 to give Inter all three points and let them earn a spot in the Champions League Round of 16.
El Toro warmly hugged his compatriot Diego Milito after the game as shown by Inter in a video posted on X.
Milito, an Inter legend and a 2010 Champions League winner with the Nerazzurri, was at the Red Bull Arena as one of Amazon Prime Video’s pundits.
He and Lautaro had played together at Racing and El Toro made his senior debut with the Argentinean side in 2015 by replacing El Principe in a game against Mutual Crucero.
Milito also played a key role in persuading Lautaro to move to Inter in 2018 given that El Toro was in advanced talks with Atletico Madrid.
