Vincenzo Italiano admits Fiorentina ‘can’t stop’ Nico Gonzalez at the moment, as he is in sparkling form and ready to start against Ferencvaros.

It kicks off at the Stadio Franchi at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from this game, Sporting-Atalanta and Roma-Servette on the LIVEBLOG.

There was a change to the starting XI, as goalkeeper Oliver Christensen pulled out during the warm-up, replaced by Pietro Terracciano.

Meanwhile, Lucas Beltran leads the attack, as M’Bala Nzola is not even on the bench.

“We always try to rotate the squad and ensure everyone gets rest, but we also have players who know their bodies well and if they feel ready to play, then we listen to them,” Italiano told Sky Sport Italia.

“I hope to see a Fiorentina performance on the same level as our recent outings. I think we still have huge margin for improvement, as we changed a lot of players and not everyone adapts at the same pace. These recent victories are boosting our self-esteem and allow us to train with enthusiasm.”

Of all the rotation, the only player who Fiorentina seemingly cannot do without is Argentina international Nico Gonzalez.

“He always says that he feels good and when he plays like this, it is hard to take him off,” confessed the coach.

“If quality players perform like this, it is right to use them. Nico has improved so much in front of goal this season, he is in great physical shape and we can’t stop him!

“He’s never been this consistent before and if he maintains this approach, he can become truly a top player.”
