UEFA have officially confirmed that a joint bid from Italy and Turkey has been submitted to host the 2032 European Championship.
The FIGC have been pushing to host a European Championship for some time now, aware that it would be a great opportunity to modernise stadiums across the country, something that is often a source of issue in Italian football.
Italy and Turkey originally prepared separate bids but in July of this year announced the decision to combine their proposals into a single hosting bid. Russia also announced their intention to submit a bid, but this was rejected by UEFA, on account of their ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
As announced today, UEFA have received the official joint bid proposal from Italy and Turkey, confirming their intentions to host the 2032 European Championship. The bid is now being evaluated by the UEFA Executive Committee.
UEFA will announce the hosts of Euro 2028 and Euro 2032 at a meeting at their headquarters in Nyon on October 10.
