Maxime Lopez

Inter are still considering buying another midfielder before the summer transfer window slams shut on September 1 and according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Nerazzurri have two specific names in mind.

One of those is Sassuolo’s Maxime Lopez. Inter have reportedly made contact with the Neroverdi, although they are not the only ones as the Frenchman is said to have plenty of interest from abroad.

Lopez has two years remaining on his current contract with Sassuolo, but Di Marzio writes that due to their solid working relationship with Inter, the deal is not a complete write-off, despite there only being just over two days of the transfer window left to go.

The other possibility is Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumare, although unlike with Lopez, Inter have not yet made a formal approach to the Midlands side.

What is known is that Soumare does not intend to play the 2023-24 season in the Championship and is therefore expected to leave the King Power Stadium in the coming days.
