Genoa have reportedly set their sights on Tottenham midfielders Tanguy Ndombele and Pape Matar Sarr and according to Telenord, today is a crucial date in negotiations between clubs and players.

Il Grifone want to end the summer transfer window with a new signing in central midfield and according to local TV Telenord, they are in talks with Tottenham for both Ndombele and Sarr.

According to the report, Ndombele is Genoa’s primary target and although the Serie A side are confident of reaching an agreement with Spurs, it may be trickier to convince the French midfielder to move to Marassi.

A new ‘crucial’ meeting between the three parties will take place today, according to Telenord. Sky Sport confirms Genoa’s interest in Ndombele.

The ex-Lyon midfielder is a familiar face for Serie A fans having spent the last season on loan at Napoli, winning a legendary Scudetto. However, he was not a regular starter under Luciano Spalletti so the Partenopei did not activate an option to buy worth €30m in June.

Ndombele has yet to make his 2023-24 debut with Spurs, while Sarr has scored one goal in four appearances across all competitions.
