With only a week to go in the summer transfer window, Corriere della Sera highlight how Romelu Lukaku approached both Milan and Roma to try and find a possible move away from Chelsea.
The 30-year-old Belgian striker has been one of the unfortunate protagonists in the Serie A summer transfer market, initially seeming destined to return to Inter before it emerged that he’d secretly been negotiating with Juventus.
The Old Lady held various meetings with Chelsea to try and agree a deal for Lukaku involving Dusan Vlahovic, but the Serbian striker isn’t expected to leave Turin now and things have stalled in the Piedmont capital.
As reported by Corriere della Sera via TMW, Lukaku’s lawyer Sebastien Ledure contacted both Milan and Roma in recent days to explore a possible transfer to either club in the closing stages of the summer window.
The Rossoneri immediately rejected the approach, having no intention of adding the 30-year-old to their squad, but the Giallorossi were open to a deal.
Roma cannot afford an outright transfer, however, so would only be able to offer a loan deal with significant salary contributions from Chelsea.
No one wants a Snake in their team.
He’s not reliable.
He is a loser!
Ac Milan needs lukaku or morata .
He’s old and can’t run. He couldn’t score in front of a empty net.
Plain speaking , he is awful
