Multiple reports in Italy claim Milan have reached an agreement to sign Platense defender Marco Pellegrino.
Sky Sport Italia claimed on Sunday morning that the Rossoneri were close to reaching an agreement with Platense, but Gazzetta and Calciomercato.com are now reporting that the two clubs have shaken hands over a €3m deal plus add-ons.
Platense President Sebastián Ordoñez arrived in Milan earlier this week to finalise the agreement with the Rossoneri. Gazzetta and Calciomercato.com confirm the deal comes with a sell-on clause for the Argentinean club.
Pellegrino will replace Matteo Gabbia, who joined Villarreal on loan earlier this summer.
Milan boss Stefano Pioli will hold a pre-match press conference ahead of Monday’s Serie A opener against Bologna shortly and will likely discuss Milan’s move for the 21-year-old Argentinean defender.
Pellegrino scored one goal in 17 appearances with Platense last season and his contract with the Argentinean club expires in June 2024 which is why Milan managed to secure his signature for a relatively low fee.
