According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Inter risk losing another key midfielder to the Saudi Pro League, as Al-Ahli are ready to bid for Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Nerazzurri have already sold Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr FC in a deal worth €18m plus bonuses and they allowed him to leave in part because Calhanoglu was in place to take over his role.
However, now L’Equipe suggest that Al-Ahli have set their sights firmly on Calhanoglu to reinforce their squad.
It is known that the club is looking for a midfielder, as they have also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Italy star Marco Verratti so far this summer.
They were close to Piotr Zielinski, who instead seems intent on signing a new contract with Napoli.
Calhanoglu is 29 years old and only just signed a new deal holding him to Inter until June 2027.
His fellow Turkey international Merih Demiral joined Al-Ahli today, completing a €20m transfer from Atalanta.
