Italy Under-21 talent Cesare Casadei has been requested on loan by Enzo Maresca’s Leicester City, but Chelsea are not yet convinced of the idea, claim Sky Sport Italia.
A product of the Inter youth academy, was sold to Chelsea for €15m plus another €5m in bonuses in the summer of 2022.
He was on loan at Championship side Reading from January to May 2023 and the intention was to give him regular playing time in the Premier League this season.
However, Fabrizio Romano reports that Leicester City have asked to take Casadei on loan under the guidance of new coach Maresca.
The Foxes, who famously won the Premier League under Claudio Ranieri, were relegated over the summer and are now in the Championship.
Midfielder Casadei is 20 years old and has also been linked with a possible return to Serie A on loan for Fiorentina.
He has eight goals in nine caps for Italy at Under-20 level, becoming the Under-20 World Cup top scorer and Player of the Tournament, earning another two caps for the Under-21s.
