All the sources in Italy seem confident that Rasmus Hojlund will make the move to Manchester United, but the details of how much Atalanta will pocket continue to vary.

Final negotiations to whittle down the details are taking place today, with intermediaries meeting during La Dea’s 3-1 friendly win away to Bournemouth.

Hojlund was in the squad for that game on English soil, but spent all of it on the bench, as nobody wanted to risk an injury so close to the massive transfer deal.

Multiple Italian sources are treating it as a guarantee now that Hojlund will join Manchester United, but like Andre Onana from Inter, the Serie A side want to squeeze every penny out of this move.

The general belief is that the fee will be in the region of €70m (approximately £61m) once bonuses are included.

The precise split between transfer fee and add-ons is what the clubs are right now trying to ascertain, but at the very least Manchester United will pay €62m.

Atalanta are asking for closer to €65m guaranteed and the asking price is €70m plus €5m in bonuses.

The 20-year-old already agreed a long-term contract at Old Trafford, so that is not an issue.

Atalanta signed the replacement for Hojlund today, breaking their all-time transfer record for 21-year-old El Bilal Toure from Almeria at €28m plus €2m in bonuses.
