Fiorentina defender Igor is currently undergoing his medical with Brighton and Hove Albion, joining Roberto De Zerbi’s club for a reported €20m.
According to goal.com, the Brazilian centre-back is having his tests this afternoon and will then sign the contract to June 2027.
It is believed to be a permanent deal worth €17m plus another €3m in add-ons, while the Viola will also retain a percentage of the future sell-on fee.
That represents a huge profit for the centre-back, who had been signed from SPAL in January 2020 initially on loan for €1.4m, then purchased outright in 2021 for a further €6m.
Igor’s contract was due to expire this summer, although the Tuscans did have an option to extend by another year.
The 25-year-old central defender can also play as a left-back and his future at the Stadio Franchi came to a close in controversial circumstances, as his error was blamed for the winning goal scored by West Ham United in the Conference League Final.
