Sofyan Amrabat ‘has chosen Manchester United,’ according to Sportitalia, but the club has not yet reached an agreement with Fiorentina.

There were strong reports in Morocco yesterday that a deal was done for the midfielder going to Old Trafford and even a medical booked.

However, the Italian sources were considerably less confident that the two clubs were close to doing a deal.

Now Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà explains that Amrabat “has chosen Manchester United” and is waiting for the sides to work out the details.

This is not entirely dissimilar to the situation Amrabat was already in over the January transfer window with Barcelona, which fell apart because the Blaugrana were only prepared to sign him on loan with an option to buy.

In this case, Fiorentina are more prepared to sell and set the price-tag at €30m, so Pedullà believes it could be done for €23-25m plus bonuses to reach that figure and could be resolved by the end of the week.
