Juventus could try to secure Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea even without first selling Dusan Vlahovic, as his rapport with Inter has completely broken down.

The striker seemed to be heading for a return to San Siro on a permanent basis this summer after the loan move, only for the Nerazzurri to drop him like a stone after discovering he had been in talks with their Serie A arch-rivals.

It was again reported today that Lukaku rejected the proposals from Saudi Arabia, as he now has his heart set on Juve, but they were waiting to sell Vlahovic first.

Now Calciomercato.com claim the situation is changing again, because Vlahovic is still struggling with injury problems and coach Max Allegri is pushing Juve to provide him with Lukaku regardless of the Serbian’s status.

It would require a different approach towards Chelsea, such as asking to take Lukaku on loan with an option to buy.

While they had rejected a similar request to renew the loan by Inter, they might be more inclined to accept a whole new agreement with Juventus.

The asking price is also circa €40m, which could be whittled down with a player exchange.
