Manchester United intend to make a written offer to Fiorentina for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and to Atalanta for striker Rasmus Hojlund over the next few days.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the Premier League side is stepping up its negotiations with Serie A sides after securing Andre Onana from Inter.

Reports in Morocco this evening claimed that Amrabat is definitely heading to Old Trafford, and while the Italian sources are not quite so confident, they do maintain that talks have intensified over the last few hours.

A proposal is expected to be made for €22-25m plus bonuses, which will approach the €30m asking price set by Fiorentina for Amrabat.

Meanwhile, Sportitalia also insist that Manchester United will make a formal, written proposal for Atalanta striker Hojlund by Thursday.

They still need to sell in order to balance out the books, but are confident they can get all these deals done.

Atalanta want €60m, but are prepared to include performance-related bonuses and add-ons to reach that figure.
