Torino are hoping to start a bidding war for defender Perr Schuurs according to reports in Tuttosport, with Napoli as well as a host of Premier League clubs said to be queueing up for the 23-year-old Dutchman.

The former Ajax and Fortuna Sittard centre-back joined Torino for approximately €11m last summer, but his valuation has skyrocketed over the course of the last 12 months.

After an impressive maiden campaign in Serie A, it is believed that Schuurs is valued at around €35m-€40m by his current employers.

According to Tuttosport’s claims, Liverpool have already offered Torino €30m for Schuurs, which was subsequently rejected. Il Toro have reportedly asked Jurgen Klopp’s and his team for a €40m fee.

Napoli, too, have had an initial offer rejected according to Tuttosport, who claim the Partenopei put a €28m offer on the table, made up of a €25m fee and €3m in bonuses.

West Ham and Crystal Palace have also both registered interest in Schuurs, but have not yet submitted a formal offer.

With increasing interest and no shortage of suitors, Torino are reportedly confident that they can fetch at least €35m for their flourishing defender and if the interest is serious enough, the club are hopeful that a bidding war could ensue.
