Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso reveals he spoke to the Premier League President following last night’s defeat in the Conference League Final, calling West Ham players and fans ‘animals.’

The Hammers beat the Tuscans in the Conference League Final in Prague on Wednesday night thanks to a late Jarrod Bowen goal.

It’s the second Final Fiorentina lost this season after the Coppa Italia one two weeks ago.

“What should I say? I expected a victory. But there were cases where the referee should have done better,” Commisso told reporters after his return to Florence on Thursday morning, as quoted by Firenzeviola.

“[Luka] Jovic broke his nose. Then [Cristiano] Biraghi. I spoke to the Premier League President, telling him they are all animals for how they treated our footballers.

“The defeat is not fair. We could have won 3-0, I am sorry for the fans who deserved more.”

Jovic had to be subbed off at halftime after picking up a knock to his nose seconds before the end of the first half. He had scored on a rebound, but it was ruled out by a VAR check.

His teammate Biraghi was hit by objects thrown by West Ham fans during the first half causing him to bleed. The Viola captain remained on the pitch for the entire match.

Lastly, Commisso confirmed Italiano would stay beyond the summer, replying “yes” when asked if the 45-year-old can be considered a “cornerstone.” The Tuscans’ tactician is said to be among Napoli‘s targets to replace Luciano Spalletti.
