According to The Atheltic, Manchester United have held ‘detailed talks’ with Atalanta for striker Rasmus Hojlund.

The 20-year-old has scored eight goals in 31 Serie A appearances this season following a €17m transfer from Strum Graz last summer.

Tipped to become the ‘next Erling Haaland’, the Denmark international has attracted interest from several clubs around Europe and according to The Atheltic, Manchester United have taken concrete steps towards his signature.

According to the report, the Red Devils have held ‘detailed talks’ with La Dea over the striker’s purchase. Man United are also in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for Randal Kolo Muani, but Hojlund ‘is seen as the likelier player to join United at this stage.’

The signing of a new centre-forward is a priority for United boss Erik ten Hag, and although Tottenham’s Harry Kane remains the ‘ideal candidate’ for the Red Devils, Hojlund is also high on the Premier League club’s agenda.

Both ten Hag and Hojlund are represented by SEG agency whose co-founder, Kees Voss, is said to be a regular at Old Trafford.
