Inter president Steven Zhang was not recognised by staff at Stadio Carlo Castellani and was initially stopped from entering to watch the match against Empoli.

The Nerazzurri cruised to a 3-0 win away to the Tuscan outfit last weekend, with goals coming from Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, allowing the team to bounce back after a run of poor domestic form.

Zhang has started to grow into a much-maligned figure at Inter due to the club’s delicate financial position, which has stopped them from capitalising on their Scudetto success in the 2020-21 season.

As reported by La Repubblica, Zhang was not recognised as he entered the Stadio Carlo Castellani due to his ‘rapper-style’ clothing, leading the staff to stop him from taking to his seat.

The error was soon realised, and he was quickly allowed to sit down, allowing him to closely follow and enjoy Inter’s win over Empoli, an important result in their fight for a top four finish.
