The sons of the late Sinisa Mihajlovic were guests of Roberto De Zerbi at the American Express Stadium for Brighton’s 4-0 win over West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, reports SportItalia.

De Zerbi, along with members of his coaching staff, were photographed with two of Mihajlovic’s sons and close relatives after the match.

De Zerbi had been linked with a move to take over the reins at Bologna in 2022 before making his move to England and taking on the job at Brighton.

In a symbolic gesture of respect and admiration, De Zerbi rejected the chance to take over from Mihajlovic, who was suffering from complications from his battle with leukaemia in September.

Mihajlovic died in Rome three months later, on December 16.

De Zerbi’s Brighton currently find themselves in eighth place in the league with several games in hand on all of their closest competitors following impressive victories over Liverpool and twice over Potter’s Chelsea so far this campaign.
