Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti has added another trophy to his bulging cabinet, as his Real Madrid beat Al Hilal 5-3 in a thrilling Club World Cup Final.
Ancelotti is the only coach ever to win all five major European League titles, taking Serie A, the Premier League, Ligue 1, LaLiga and the Bundesliga.
He won the Champions League last season for Real Madrid, the fourth time he has lifted that trophy between Milan and the Merengues.
This was his third victory in the Club World Cup as a coach, after Milan in 2007-08 and Real Madrid in 2014-15.
That allowed the Italian to equal Pep Guardiola’s tally of three editions of this trophy.
It was by no means an easy victory, as Al Hilal put up a real battle at the Moulay Abdullah Stadium in Rabat.
Vinicius Junior and Valverde got a brace each, while Karim Benzema put World Cup disappointment behind him by finding the net here.
Real Madrid have now won the Intercontinental Cup a record eight times, double the tally of Milan and Bayern Munich.
When Milan won it in 2007, it was called the club World Cup. The intercontinental cup was abolished in 2004.
