Roma star Nicolò Zaniolo has arrived in Istanbul and reportedly already underwent the first part of his Galatasaray medical this evening.

The Italy international flew out from Milan this afternoon to complete the transfer, which is believed to be worth circa €15m plus up to €7m in various add-ons.

There should also be a release clause in the contract that has been set at €35m, paving the way for a possible return to Serie A over the summer.

According to Sportitalia, Zaniolo landed safely in Istanbul this evening and was immediately taken to undergo the first part of the medical tests.

The others will be performed in the morning, so that Galatasaray can complete the transfer before the deadline, which is on Wednesday.

Zaniolo had hoped to remain in Italy with Milan and turned down a far more lucrative proposal from Premier League side Bournemouth, infuriating Roma.

With his contract running down in June 2024 and the prospect of sitting in the stands for six months, he opened up to the Turkish option.

  1. He’s going to be earning the same as he was at Roma, Bournemouth offered him 5 million per year and the buy out clause was the same amount, furthermore he would’ve been directly in the shop window for the likes of Chelsea and Man City. If I could give him one piece of advice, it would be to change agent.
