Lazio President Claudio Lotito was impressed by the Biancocelesti’s win over Atalanta on Sunday: ‘I never suffered in front of TV.’

Maurizio Sarri’s side won seven of the opening 11 games in Serie A this season and are five points behind table leaders Napoli.

On Sunday, they beat Atalanta 2-0, keeping their sixth consecutive clean sheet.

“We played great football, I saw an amazing Lazio,” Lotito told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

“We won on a difficult pitch despite being without Immobile. What impressed me the most is that the game was never on the brink. There was never a moment when I suffered watching the game on TV.

“It’s a great satisfaction for the club, we are realising what we had in mind.”

Two weeks ago, Sarri complained because of the turf’s conditions at the Stadio Olimpico. Lotito agrees with his coach: “The mister is right, the ball moves slowly and we are a technical team. We need great turf, so hopefully, the efforts of Sport and Salute will soon improve it.”
