Juventus loanee Arthur has cancelled his holiday to play with Liverpool’s U21 team and get in shape for Jurgen Klopp’s first team.
The Brazil international surprisingly joined the Reds on loan with an option to buy on the deadline day and has only made two competitive appearances with Liverpool this term, making his debut in the second half of their 4-1 loss away at Napoli in the Champions League.
He was not called up to the Brazil national team but continued to work with Liverpool’s U21 squad, with whom he has made one appearance this season.
“He could have had a week off, but he didn’t want that,” said Liverpool’s U21 coach Barry Lewtas, as quoted by Goal.com.
“He wants to get fit, which shows his level of professionalism, and he’s been really good to have around.”
Arthur joined Liverpool on an initial €4.5m loan from Juventus this summer and the Reds have an option to make his move permanent for €37.5m in 2023.
The ex-Barcelona midfielder played 63 games with Juventus, scoring just one goal. He moved to Juventus for €76m in the summer of 2020, while Miralem Pjanic went the opposite way for €60m.
