Napoli target Keylor Navas has not been called up for Paris Saint-Germain’s upcoming game against Lille, officially due to ‘back pain’.

The Partenopei are desperately working to pick up the Costa Rican veteran this month as they look to provide Luciano Spalletti with a more suitable goalkeeper. The Italian coach wasn’t particularly convinced by Alex Meret and Navas now looks to takeover the starting spot in Campania.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, PSG did not called up Navas for the upcoming game against Lille, officially due to back pain. The announcement suggests that he’ll undergo treatment at the club’s training centre before new assessments are made in 48 hours.

Whilst Navas may genuinely be suffering from back pain, there’s also a chance that the reason is an excuse ahead of a possible move to Napoli. The Partenopei have seemingly been closing in on a deal for a little while now and things could be finalised early next week.
