There are some new reports emerging on the details of the deal for Verona striker Giovanni Simeone, as Napoli sign him on loan with some curious clauses on the option to buy.

The centre-forward already had his medical with the Partenopei and is not in the squad when the two clubs face off at the Stadio Bentegodi this evening.

According to most sources, this agreement is a loan for €3m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for a further €12m.

However, according to Serie A News, this will only become an obligation if two different criteria are achieved during his loan spell.

The first is that Napoli qualify for the Champions League next term, the other is that Simeone scores at least 20 Serie A goals.

Considering having both of those will be tricky, it is to all intents and purposes an option to buy without obligation for Napoli.

  1. If he scores 20 goals, along with the other fire power they have, its pretty safe bet they will be top 4.
